The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) has commenced steel cutting for its third and fourth Victory-class Multi-Role Combat Vessels (MRCVs) on 29 April 2026.
The event, officiated by Head of Naval Engineering and Logistics (HNEL) ME7 Khoo Koh Giok, was attended by officials and representatives from the RSN and Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) at ST Engineering Marine.

In a post on LinkedIn, ST Engineering said: “Yesterday, we marked a key milestone with the steel cutting of the third and fourth Multi-Role Combat Vessel (MRCV) for the Republic of Singapore Navy, underscoring growing momentum and cadence across the project.
“With smart technologies and decades of shipbuilding expertise, we continue to deliver advanced, mission ready platforms for modern naval operations.”
ST Engineering is overseeing the design and build of six MRCVs under a contract awarded in 2023, with scheduled deliveries to begin from 2028.
In October last year, the company launched MRCV Victory, the first vessel of the six at ST Engineering’s Benoi Yard.
The second vessel, Valour, is slated for launch later this year, according to RSN.
The Victory-class MRCVs are designed to serve as motherships for uncrewed aerial, surface, and underwater systems supporting a range of naval operations, including maritime security, surveillance, and combat missions.
Each vessel will measure 150 metres (m) in length, with a beam of 21m, and a standard displacement of around 8,000 tonnes.
The class will feature a top speed exceeding 22 knots, a range greater than 7,000 nautical miles, and standard crew accommodation for fewer than 100 personnel.
Development of the MRCVs involves DSTA, DSO National Laboratories, ST Engineering, and international partners.
Once commissioned, these ships will replace the RSN’s current Victory-class missile corvettes, which have been operational since 1989.
