Another nice news from the Second Wind Showcase, it’s about Firesquid Games, which released a brand-new trailer for Prelude: Dark Pain, the upcoming turn-based tactical RPG set in a dark fantasy world.
The trailer includes gameplay footage of some of the factions of the game’s world, Statera, and many of the heroes that you’ll be recruiting throughout your adventure.
In addition to showing off the Blue Nets (the group run by Duocco, Soren’s father-in-law), which protects the seas and southern coastline of Statera from pirates, the trailer shows-off some of the playable members of that faction. These include Tammais, a frontline fighter/bruiser who provides both defensive support and offensive damage.
There is also Maya, a ranged archer who has the ability to call upon magical creatures to aid in battle. Finally, there is Urza who is a high shaman and thus capable of providing all forms of support magic. Rufio plays a much more direct role in combat, using his axe to destroy his foes quickly and then grappling them back towards him.

Additionally, the trailer introduces you to the Keepers of the Veil. They are one of the older clans of Statera.
They are often referred to as the “Lords of Death” because they protect the veil between worlds. One member of this faction is Sade, a quiet and mystical woman who uses a cross to communicate with her divine companion, The Lady of the Cross. From what I’ve been able to gather about Sade’s abilities, she appears to be heavily connected to some of the game’s darker spiritual aspects.
Finally, the trailer introduces us to the Van Rigmars, the clan that controls the western region of Statera. While other clans may be able to find Blood Crystals, it is only the Van Rigmars that are able to master their magical properties. One representative of this faction is Gala, who fights with a musket and whip. Additionally, she has access to Blood Crystal Magic, which increases her overall damage potential.
You will be able to play Prelude: Dark Pain in early access form when it launches later this summer on PC via Steam.
