- Pam Bondi faces mounting criticism following a defensive testimony during a congressional hearing on the DOJ’s handling of the Epstein files
- There is growing pressure to hold a member of the DOJ accountable for failures around the Epstein Files Transparency Act
- See the latest prediction market odds for Pam Bondi and others to leave the Trump Cabinet
US Attorney General Pam Bondi is under fire over the Department of Justice’s handling of the Epstein files as the revelations of previously classified documents continue to shock the nation. The Attorney General sent a letter to Congress stating the Department of Justice (DOJ) met its obligations under the Epstein Transparency Act and released all of the files pertaining to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. However, there continues to be bipartisan pushback on shortcomings in the handling of the documents.
Much of the controversy stems from the names of wealthy and influential figures that were redacted, while identifying and sensitive information about the victims was left un-redacted. As the fallout grows from the release of previously redacted names, lawmakers are pushing for someone to be held accountable for these oversights.
Pam Bondi has a checkered history with the Epstein Files. Previously, she claimed to have Epstein’s client list on her desk, only to walk back that statement, saying that no such list exists. The AG also deflected pressure to release the files earlier in 2025, passing it on to Kash Patel and the FBI, claiming they failed to deliver her the “full and complete” set of files and threatened an investigation.
Even with many calling for accountability, Pam Bondi still has the support of President Trump, who was quick to praise her efforts after last week’s hearing on Truth Social. But is his backing enough to protect her, or could she be the next to depart the administration? See what prediction markets are saying about the AG’s future.
Will Pam Bondi Leave Trump’s Cabinet Next?
2026 is off to a tumultuous start for Trump’s Cabinet, leading to speculation around who will be the next person let go from the administration. Watching the tides turn during special elections across the country in areas that were once handily won by Trump could lead to a cabinet overhaul to regain the public’s trust ahead of the midterms. With a wake of bad press coming from the handling of the Epstein Files, ICE raids, economic uncertainty, questions of FCC overreach, and whistleblower suppression, there is no shortage of names that could be sacrificed for a boost in the polls.
By late 2025, Pete Hegseth was a clear favorite for his handling of the bombing boats off the coast of Venezuela and for having potentially committed a war crime with a second attack on defenseless survivors. However, 2026 brought with it a slew of controversies that let him slip out of the lead, well below the attention that Kristi Noem, Howard Lutnick, Tulsi Gabbard, and Pam Bondi have garnered.
Every week has provided an opportunity for one of these names to claim the spot of favorite, if not only for a brief moment. Kristi Noem has maintained a near 20% chance on Kalshi to leave Trump’s Cabinet, due largely to her overseeing the ICE raids taking place across the country.
With growing noise about a whistleblower report being suppressed, along with her presence at a Georgia voting center investigation, Tulsi Gabbard made a quiet run for the top spot in early February. Gabbard quickly closed the gap between herself and Noem to just 2% on February 9th.
However, the revelation of Howard Lutnick’s ongoing communications and visits with Epstein quickly overshadowed Gabbard’s run, and resulted in Lutnick topping the chart at 31%, nearly a full 10% higher than Noem. Lutnick now sits in a dead heat with Noem for 2nd most likely to leave the Trump Cabinet following Pam Bondi’s ascension to the top spot, thanks to her fiery display in front of Congress last week. Will the President’s recent sign of support for the Attorney General be enough to save her?

If a selection is the first to leave President Trump’s Cabinet or announces they are leaving of their own volition, by being fired, or by being impeached, the market will resolve to Yes. Should two Cabinet members announce they are leaving simultaneously, the one who leaves first will resolve to Yes.
Who Will Be Next to Leave Trump’s Cabinet?
There’s no question that Pam Bondi is the hot pick this week. But while lawmakers are still fuming at her display during the hearing, she has been loyal in defending the President, and he has been quick to heap praise upon her.
Unless more damaging evidence is found in the Epstein files regarding Lutnick, it seems for now that his time in the hot seat has passed, and his place in the Cabinet is safe, for now.
Even with Tom Homan saying ICE will scale back operations in Minnesota, he has left the door open for deploying ICE in force in other sanctuary cities. This also leaves the door open for Noem to regain the top spot should any further controversies or issues arise.
A dark horse to keep an eye on is Tulsi Gabbard. While she would like to keep this whistleblower report out of the headlines, if more information comes out about the intercepted foreign intelligence call, she could be set to take the top spot.
Bondi’s current hold on the lead will likely be short-lived as the fallout from her congressional hearing fades, which may offer good value on picking someone like Kristi Noem while she is, for now, out of the spotlight.
