Tehran, IRNA — Iran’s Ambassador to Lebanon Mojtaba Amani has reaffirmed Tehran’s insistence on its legitimate right to access peaceful nuclear technology, while reiterating Iran’s support for Lebanon’s state institutions, army, and resistance.
Speaking at a ceremony marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran at the Lancaster Hotel in Beirut, Amani said Iran stands ready to support Lebanon’s efforts to improve its economic conditions and advance reconstruction, stressing that such support would strengthen the country’s resilience and help realize the aspirations of its people.
The official expressed confidence that Lebanon, which had previously defeated occupation and thwarted attempts at sedition, is capable of overcoming current challenges and emerging stronger. Amani noted that Iran has consistently stood by Lebanon, its government and people during the most difficult times.
Congratulating Lebanon on the election of a new president and the formation of a new government with broad national consensus, the ambassador voiced hope that this development would mark the beginning of a new era of prosperity for the country.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of President Joseph Aoun, Speaker Nabih Berri and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, as well as current and former lawmakers, ministers and prominent Lebanese political, religious, diplomatic and social figures.
Amani said the wide participation reflected the deep ties between Iran and Lebanon, adding that the 1979 Islamic Revolution marked a major historical turning point, symbolizing the Iranian people’s victory against tyranny and their pursuit of independence and self-determination.
