Opening Round Produces Lightning-Fast Lifting
The opening round immediately showcased the depth of Olympic lifting talent in the women’s field. Hannah Black, who has a recorded 1RM snatch of 231 pounds, made the opening barbells look effortless. She blasted through all three lifts without hesitation, setting an early benchmark for the rest of the competition.
Domit also looked exceptionally comfortable, crushing the opening set with little difficulty.
Paige Rodgers was among the quickest athletes through the first three lifts, while Elisa Fuliano and Bjornsdottir also produced rapid performances to comfortably advance through to the next round.
Only the 20 fastest athletes moved on to the next stage of the workout.
The Second Round
The heavier second round continued to separate the field. Mathilde Garnes delivered an outstanding performance, winning her heat in 24.00 seconds despite the increased weights.
Alex Gazan and Ellie Turner also moved efficiently through the barbells to secure progression. Lucy Campbell’s hopes took a hit after missing one of her lifts, costing valuable time in the race to qualify for the final round.
Hannah Black Prevails in the Final
The final round brought together the fastest lifters of the day, including another showdown between Hannah Black and Bjornsdottir.
The pair remained neck and neck as the weights climbed, each lifting with impressive speed despite the heavier loads. Everything came down to the final barbell.
Bjornsdottir failed her final lift, opening the door for Black to capitalize. She made the lift, and sprinted over the line to secure the event victory after an outstanding display of speed and composure.
Kerstetter finished second, with Elisa Fuliano taking third. Bjornsdottir placed fourth after her missed final attempt, while Domit rounded out the top five.

The return of the 2020 Speed Snatch once again proved why it remains one of the CrossFit Games’ most exciting lifting events. Rather than simply rewarding the strongest athletes, it demanded speed, precision, and complete confidence under pressure. Hannah Black delivered all three, turning a dominant lifting performance into one of the biggest victories of Day 3.
