Since I have been consistently scanning for weekly deals from multiple storefronts, I’ve come to realize you can usually find a good opportunity to buy something. For the most part, there’s always an RPG or some other type of turn-based strategy game going through a sale, with low prices that are very close to being unbelievable relative to what they offer, well worth looking into.
Steam has some really unbelievable sales going on right now, and it’s not even one of their big annual events. If you love turn-based RPGs, the platform has tons of deals on games that should be part of every fan’s library, so be sure not to miss these deals before they’re gone.
From restored classics of the ’80s and ’90s to some of the best titles of the last decade, some of these deals seem too good to be true for the games they’re offering!

Grandia HD Remaster
- Developer: GAME ARTS, Sickhead Games
- Release Date: 15 October, 2019
- Platform: Windows, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch
- Steam Page

Grandia is one of the best JRPGs of all time, but unless you were a genre superfan in the ’90s you might have missed it. Luckily, this PS1 classic has a modern remaster that keeps the legendary story intact with enhanced visuals, so you can experience Grandia as the masterpiece it’s always been.
The HD Remasters of both Grandia and its equally-fantastic sequel are both 50% off on Steam until 27 April. If you’ve never played them, or if you’re in the mood to revisit the glory days, you can get them for $9.99 each rather than $19.99.
Chains of Freedom
- Developer: Nordcurrent
- Release Date: 15 April, 2025
- Platform: Windows, PlayStation, Xbox
- Steam Page

If you’re in the mood for something that’s a little bit XCOM and a little bit X-Files, give Chains of Freedom a try. Chains of Freedom is celebrating its one-year anniversary this month, and is listed at 40% off on Steam until 23 April. That brings it from $24.99 down to $14.99, so if you try the free demo and decide to dig deeper into the story, be sure to grab it before the sale ends.
Warhammer 40,000: Gladius – Relics of War
- Developer: Proxy Studios
- Release Date: 12 July, 2018
- Platform: Windows, Linux
- Steam Page

Given that the setting is focused entirely on conflict, you might not think Warhammer 40k would make an especially compelling 4X Strategy game. Gladius proves that theory wrong, dropping the 41st Millennium’s iconic factions onto a planet and challenging them to explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate – especially that last part.
Gladius does a great job of bringing each faction’s tabletop flavor to the hex-grid, and at 90% off it’s hard to argue with the price. You’ll have to act fast, though, as the game is only discounted to $3.99 for a few more hours as I write this – soon it will be back up to $39.99.

Knight’s Tale and its Roman-themed spinoff Legion IX are both discounted 70% on Steam, giving you plenty of bloody battles to fight. The discount ends on 21 April for both games, so act fast if you want to get them for $5.99 each as opposed to $19.99.

A turn-based JRPG in a strange but beautiful world, with a lovely soundtrack and cast, from a small French studio – of course, I’m talking about Edge of Eternity! While it might not have caused a global sensation, this JRPG from Midgar Studio is well worth a play, especially given that it’s frequently on sale.
Edge of Eternity is just $4.49 on Steam until 24 April, letting you save 85% off its standard price of $29.99. The Deluxe Edition, which includes the artbook, Yasunori Mitsuda soundtrack, and some extra skins and other bonuses, is 63% off at $14.62.
