Valentina Shevchenko didn’t hold back on Jake Paul after his recent fiery remarks about the current state of MMA.
Jake Paul’s ongoing feud with UFC CEO Dana White reignited earlier this week when the polarizing influencer/boxer claimed that the promotion, and Mixed Martial Arts as a whole, ‘is dying’. Paul pointed to what he perceives as a lackluster UFC Freedom 250 card at the White House as a major symptom of a larger issue.
Paul has been a frequent critic of the UFC’s business model and how fighters are financially compensated. He and White have traded barbs several times over the years and had an awkward run-in at the NCAA College Football Playoff Championship Game earlier this year.
Paul recently hinted at a potential MMA showdown with one-time boxing rival Nate Diaz after Diaz’s upcoming fight against Mike Perry. If Paul makes an appearance in the cage, UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko believes it’ll be a grave mistake.
Valentina Shevchenko to Jake Paul: MMA fighters ‘will wipe the floor’ with you!
In a recent post to X, Shevchenko blasted Paul’s comments towards White and the UFC.
“UFC dying?! Hey Jake, you definitely don’t know what you are talking about. Criticizing MMA from a long distance,” Shevchenko posted.
“Try to get into an octagon with one of them, they’ll wipe the floor with your pretty face. You will show spectacular, breathtaking fight from down there. Then you can tell us how fun or boring it was.”
Shevchenko has become more vocal in recent months in responding to jabs from Khabib Nurmagomedov and Ronda Rousey. After Nurmagomedov made some controversial remarks about female MMA fighters, Shevchenko issued a lengthy response to the UFC Hall of Famer on social media.
As of this writing, Paul hasn’t responded to Shevchenko’s comments, and his ongoing feud with White and the UFC marches on.
