MMA veteran Urijah Faber has given his thoughts on whether he can possibly reconcile with TJ Dillashaw.
For the longest time, TJ Dillashaw and Urijah Faber were pretty close as training partners and friends. However, many years ago now, the relationship fell apart – leading to a bitter feud that was at the core of the rivalry between Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt when they were feuding with one another.
Nowadays, Urijah Faber is spending his time trying to shape the future of mixed martial arts. In addition to that, he’s also still competing here and there, with a wrestling match coming up against Henry Cejudo at RAF 6.
In a recent interview, Urijah Faber was asked whether or not he could ever made amends with TJ Dillashaw, and he gave a pretty interesting answer.
Urijah Faber on TJ Dillashaw relationship
“My only problem with TJ is… what his rendition of what happened doesn’t match up with mine, which is that I cut him from the team or kicked him off the team or anything like that. That’s the newest thing I’ve been hearing.”
“I would love to just bury the hatchet, but the one problem is the interpretation of… and what it seems like to me because he’s got a business he’s pushing now. He’s going on kind of a PR tour. I don’t necessarily want to be part of the PR tour unless it’s factual things.”
“For me, I didn’t kick the guy off the team. There was a MusclePharm team that he got paid to go be a part of and that was it. So I don’t have a problem with the guy. I want Josh to have every benefit… I think the hatchet is buried in some respect.”
“It just still bugs me if I hear something about myself that I know isn’t true… If I was there, I know what happened, and things are being said that bugs me still. So that’d be nice to bury that hatchet, but I don’t think it’s going to happen because I think whatever is being said is believed, and your own perspective is your own reality.”
