Rosas Jr. (12-1 MMA) will be competing for the first time in 12 months this evening. ‘El Niño Problema’ enters the contest sporting a four-fight winning streak, with his most recent effort resulting in a unanimous decision victory over Vince Morales.
Meanwhile, Rob Font (22-10 MMA) will enter tonight’s bout looking to rebound, this after suffering a unanimous decision loss to David Martinez in his most recent Octagon appearance this past September. Prior to that setback, the veteran was coming off back-to-back decision wins over Jean Matsumoto and Kyler Phillips respectively.

Round one of this UFC 326 men’s bantamweight contest begins and Raul Rosas Jr. comes out quickly and lands a left over the top. Rob Font charges forward with a pair of right hands. Neither of those shots connect. Raul circles and resets in the center of the cage. He lands a kick. Font answers with one of his own. Font with a hard right hand up the middle. Rosas Jr. tags him with a solid low kick. A jab from the Mexican finds the mark. Another low kick from the youngster, but this time Font catches it and trips him to the floor. Rob Font lets Raul Rosas Jr. back up and then eats a hook. Rob answers with a nice 1-2. Rosas Jr. shoots in and scores on a single leg takedown. Font scrambles to full guard and then looks to lock up a shoulder. A scramble ensues. Font is back but then dragged right back down. 90-seconds remain in the opening round. Raul is riding the back of Rob. The referee steps in and warns Font about having his fingers in the fence. Rosas Jr. drags Font back down to the canvas. 30-seconds left. The horn sounds to end the opening frame.
Round two of this UFC 326 main card matchup begins and Rob Font is coming forward aggressively here to start. Raul Rosas Jr. gets in on a takedown attempt. He gets it, but Font immediately sweeps and takes top position. Font looks to work some ground and pound, but Raul quickly sweeps him and is back in top control. Rob is once again looking to trap a shoulder. Rosas Jr. responds with some left hands to the body. A scramble ensues, Font gets to his feet for a second, but Raul Rosas Jr. drags him right back down to the ground. 1:45 remains in the second frame. Font with a scramble, but he winds up in the same position. Rosas Jr. takes half guard position. He looks to setup an arm-triangle choke. He opts to let that hold go and lands a nice punch. The horn sounds to end round two.
The third and final round begins and Rob Font needs to get his jab going. He throws out a couple of punches but then is easily taken down by Raul Rosas Jr. right by the cage. Raul moves to mount for a second, but Font is able to scramble and work his way back to his feet. Rosas Jr. still has a hold of him. He quickly drags Rob back down and moves to half guard position. Raul is dominating but not doing much damage. Just exhausting Font really. We go the full 15 minutes.
