Street Fighter 6 is currently celebrating its third anniversary this week, and we now can see what the future of the game is going to hold for the next year.
During the Summer Game Fest 2026 showcase today, Capcom announced that Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy 7, Bosch, Yasmine and Arjun
will be coming to the game in Season 4.
This will be the first Street Fighter 6 season with no returning classics since the year is comprised of three newcomers and a guest character.
So everyone still waiting for world warriors like Makoto, Sakura, Vega, Dudley and plenty of others are going to remain waiting another year at least.
It was previously rumored that Final Fantasy’s Tifa would be crossing over to Street Fighter, but the other characters that were mentioned alongside here are not here after all.
Bosch technically isn’t a brand new character to the story considering he served as the player’s rival in Street Fighter 6’s World Tour mode.
There had been questions as to if he’d ever be made into a playable character, and Ingrid’s latest addition to the story seemed to be setting up more for the young fighter.
We just ran our own poll of which characters fans were hoping to see as Street Fighter’s next DLC, so it’s interesting to see how that compares to what we learned today considering only two of them were on there as offshoot picks.
Tifa ranked seventh overall in the voting while Bosch was down towards the bottom.
We don’t really know much about the other two, though.
Yasmine appears to wield a special karambit knife, which points to her being of southeast Asian origin.
Arjun looks like his special ability is going to revolve around his powerful breath, but we’ll have to wait to see more.
“Tifa is a character loved by players all around the world,” said Final Fantasy Director Naoki Hamaguchi on the Summer Game Fest Stage. “That’s exactly why was this to bring to life a Tifa who truly fights within the world of Street Fighter 6.”
“Everything from her design to movement has been rebuilt as Tifa the Street Fighter,” said Street Fighter 6 Director Takayuki Nakayama. “Materia has also been reimagined as a new gameplay system.”
“We cannot show it today, but we adapted an iconic Final Fantasy element to the battle experience.”
We of course don’t know what element he’s referring to since Materia was already confirmed, however, our immediate thought was Limit Break.
Yasmine will be the first Season 4 character to release this Summer followed by Arjun in the Fall.
Tifa is third in line with a launch window of early 2027 and then finally Bosch is going to close out the season next Spring.
They’ll be joining the current roster of 30 characters after Sagat, C. Viper, Alex and Ingrid entered the arena in Season 3.
Things are going to be handled differently moving forward, though, considering Capcom previously revealed that Ingrid is the last DLC fighter to receive World Tour story content, meaning we’ll have to see how those releases are going to done over the next year.
This presumably is still far from the end of Street Fighter 6 content too considering the game is continuing to sell very well and just broke the record for most concurrent fighting game players for the second time this year.
