I’ve got something new for you…
It’s called “A Turtle Turnover into a HELLISH Pin.” But as we filmed it my friend Ritchie teased me; he said that it should be called The Macarena on account of the hand position changes.
Fair enough… challenge accepted! Here’s the Macarena Turnover that you can use in multiple grappling arts!
Fundamentally, this video is about two different techniques that look very different but work the same way.
The first is a turnover that you can use when you’re sprawling on an opponent who is either turtled or shooting in on you.
(That’s the technique that ends in the “hellish” variation of side control.)
The second technique is one I learned in Judo years ago but can be used in BJJ competition to rack up 8 easy points.
(Once you’re that far ahead on points your opponent is pretty much guaranteed to do something stupid and that’s when you can submit them.)
Give it a try, and, as always, let me know if you manage to catch your training partners with it tonight!
