CINCINNATI (WXIX) – Suspects on the run after police say two people robbed an armored money truck at gunpoint in the parking lot of a United Dairy Farmers in Mt. Healthy, Thursday afternoon.
The Mt. Healthy Police Department said they were dispatched to the UDF after 911 calls began pouring in around noon, from both bystanders and the victim.
“Yeah, he’s in the van, they’re trying to get him out of the van so they can get the money, I guess. I don’t know, I just see them roughing him up,” one witness said of the robbery,” a witness said in a 911 call.
The victims who were in the armored vehicle called 911 after the two suspects took nearly $30,000, according to the dispatch call.
“I just got robbed by two gentlemen with handguns and masks…Pistols, yeah. One guy had an extended mag,” one of the victims said during a 911 call. “They just ran off, they took some money I had.”
Police collected surveillance video from the UDF and elsewhere as they continue to look for evidence to find the perpetrators. FOX19 NOW has requested that same video.
“Two black African American 20 to 30-year-olds. About 5′8, 5′9 with masks. They were both wearing yellow like vests with their jackets,” one of the victims told 911.
Mt. Healthy Police say they set up a perimeter, prompting Mt. Healthy schools and a retirement facility next to the UDF to be placed on a temporary lockdown.
Additional agencies were also called in to help in the search, along with drones and K9 units.
Several agencies assisted at the scene, including Springfield Township, North College Hill, Colerain Police and the Sheriff’s Department.
Police are still actively investigating and searching for those responsible.
