The Indian gaming scene is gaining pace now, and to reaffirm this fact, we now have a new game trailer from Nodding Heads Games, Raji: Kaliyuga. It’s the same studio behind last year’s critically acclaimed Raji: An Ancient Epic. The trailer gives a first look at the dark-themed world of the game, new enemies, mystical creatures, and the two central characters, Raji and her younger brother Darsh.

Gameplay and Mechanics
Raji: An Ancient Epic builds upon the original’s combat system while adding new mechanics. Raji wields a divine trishul and takes up acrobatic martial arts to handle enemies, coupled with an evasion system that makes it possible to move fluidly during battles. Darsh manipulates gravity, time, and energy, thereby offering players the opportunity to link his powers with Raji’s fighting style. His capabilities are bound to siddhi-based skills that unlock special movements and ways of defeating enemies. The game introduces flexibility in that players can create their own fighting style and method of overcoming obstacles.

Story and Setting
The sequel is set six years after the events of the first book, raising the stakes of the story from mortal scuffles to cosmic battles between gods, asuras, and mystic forces. Raji and Darsh make a dangerous trek to the Eternal Summit, traversing dimensions of time and space. Darsh is a young dream walker tormented by visions of what has been and what will be, making for a deeper character arc in this story. The climax builds up to one decision: will the siblings save the universe or destroy it to stop the war?
Platforms and Availability
Raji: Kaliyuga will be launching on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, along with Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. The studio has not yet confirmed a release date, but based on the trailer, some important aspects to look forward to in the game are the atmosphere, its intense combat sequences, and the immersive soundtrack by itself.
