KNL signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hytec Inter Co., Ltd. (Hytec), a Japanese provider of mission-critical connectivity solutions, at Business Finland’s Japan–Finland Dual-use and DeepTech Business Forum on 2 February 2026.
The collaboration brings together KNL’s beyond-line-of-sight, HF communications technology with Hytec’s expertise in secure connectivity infrastructure, including private networks and integrated communications solutions for demanding operational environments.
Through the MoU, KNL and Hytec will explore opportunities to develop complementary solutions and identify selected markets where combined capabilities can deliver robust, secure and resilient communications—supporting mission-critical operations where infrastructure may be limited, contested or unavailable. The collaboration also supports KNL’s strategic ambition to expand into the Japanese defence market.
“Working with Hytec is a strong strategic fit—bringing together complementary capabilities and deep operational understanding from two technology-driven nations. We look forward to building practical synergies that create real operational value for our customers,” says Toni Lindén, CEO of KNL.
The MoU builds on KNL’s recent momentum, including strengthened Nordic defence cooperation and growing interest in resilient, long-range communications solutions for modern defence and security needs.
