On March 10, commencing at around 10:35 a.m. for approximately 20 minutes, Defense Minister Koizumi and Secretary of War Hegseth held a telephone conference. The summary is as follows.
Regarding the situation in Iran, Secretary Hegseth provided an overview of the latest developments and the outlook, and Minister Koizumi stated that the Government of Japan is closely monitoring developments with grave concern in order to ensure thorough information gathering and the protection of Japanese nationals, and that Japan is ensuring the utmost warning and surveillance around Japan.
The Ministers concurred to maintain close communication.
