Jam Kuradoberi and the version 2.00 patch for Guilty Gear Strive were recently released. Due to the version 2.00 patch applying adjustments to every character, the meta has changed drastically.
Just prior to the Arc System World Tour 2025-2026 Finale, Bushin released a tier list for the previous meta of Guilty Gear Strive that indicated that Happy Chaos, Millia, Asuka, Sin and I-No were the best in the game. He recently released a new tier list that provided some insight on how the game has seemingly changed after his first day of playing the new patch.
It’s still early, but Bushin believes that characters like Nagoriyuki, Chipp, Millia, Jam, Anji and Leo have the potential to be the best characters in the game right now. It’s certainly interesting to see that the newly released Jam Kuradoberi could be this strong already.
Previously, Happy Chaos sat in a tier category all on his own, indicating that he was the undisputed best character of Guilty Gear Strive. The changes to his kit have made it so that he has to actually pay more attention to his ammunition, so Bushin is now unsure if Happy Chaos will still be strong in the new meta.
Fighters like Asuka, Testament, A.B.A, Bridget, Slayer, Venom, Queen Dizzy and Faust did not see many benefits to the patch. Bushin has labeled these eight as potentially being the weakest in the game now.
Of course, it’s important to highlight that this is only an early look into the new meta. As new discoveries are made, characters could end up seeing significant rises or drops on the tier list.
