Extra security at North Penn High School after student arrested with weapon

TOWAMENCIN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WPVI) — There is increased security at North Penn High School in Montgomery County after a student was arrested with a weapon on Tuesday.

A letter sent home to families says police were investigating an incident outside of school and learned about the weapon.

The student was taken into custody.

The school says it will also be using the Evolv Weapons Detection System, which uses Artificial Intelligence to detect potential threats as they enter the building.
