The new add-on introduces Thorn’s rise through a new campaign arc and expands the base game with more heroes, units, and battle tools.
Chimera Entertainment has revealed Crownless King, the next expansion to Strategy RPG Songs of Silence.
Crownless King will require the base game to run and takes the focus away from some of the other heroes and puts the spotlight on Thorn. Thorn is described as a “reckless rogue” whose abilities are developed by means of raw strength, intelligence, and a blatant disregard for all rules as many kingdoms fall across Sonnan and Irdheim.
The expansion brings new campaign arcs focused on Thorn and his group of rogues. These new campaigns include two additional chapters, new playable characters, and new fully voiced dialogue.
For the skirmish features of Crownless King, there are three new Hero Classes titled Grimhowl, Harmonic and Wyldfang added along with nine Hero Vocations; four new units; six Strategy Cards; seven Battle Cards; One New Unit Perk; and a new Capital City. Players who have purchased Crownless King will be able to play multi-player games against players who did not purchase it.

All of this extra content fits into a much larger game. When Songs of Silence first launched on November 13th, 2024 it was in early access since June 4th, 2024. We are talking about a story-rich 4x strategy game with elements of exploration, kingdom management, and dynamic battles.
Actually, Songs of Silence includes an eight-map campaign with Queen Lorelai at its center, Skirmish Multiplayer games supporting up to six players, three different Factions, thirteen different Hero Classes, over 100 Units, Artifacts, and a number of battle and Kingdom Management Skills.
It’s safe to say that the most visually pleasing aspect of the base game is its Art-Nouveau style Fantasy World presentation. As such Crownless King appears to offer more structure for Thorn’s Faction as a major part in both Campaign Missions and Replayable Skirmishes thus making it seem more like another important element to the expanding Ruleset of Songs of Silence.
You can get Songs of Silence and its upcoming DLC on Steam, GOG, and Epic.
