Capcom has released a Q&A summary for their third quarter consolidated financial results conference call for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026. The information mentioned here is updated up to January 27, 2026.
Of course, since Street Fighter 6 is the latest fighting game released by Capcom, it received a few mentions in the Q&A summary document. This provides us with a sneak peek at what fans might be in store for with future Street Fighter 6 content in the coming months.
It would seem that Capcom has plans for utilizing Street Fighter 6 to advertise for the upcoming Street Fighter movie that’s set to hit theaters on October 16, 2026.
“We intend to expand sales opportunities by aligning marketing initiatives with the film’s release.” — Capcom
“Will the live action Street Fighter film scheduled for release this October 2026 have a positive impact on catalog sales?” asked one question in the PDF.
“We intend to expand sales opportunities by aligning marketing initiatives with the film’s release.” This seems to suggest that future Street Fighter 6 post-launch content will feature references to the Street Fighter film.
Of course, Capcom appears to believe that the film’s creation will also better promote Street Fighter 6.
“Why are catalog sales of Street Fighter 6 performing well, and is there potential for further expansion through media mix initiatives?”
“With the live action Street Fighter film scheduled for release in October 2026, we believe there remains further potential for sales growth.” — Capcom
“Measures targeting new user segments have been effective, resulting in an increase in teenage users. Additionally, esports events, including those held in Saudi Arabia, have contributed to improved brand recognition. With the live action Street Fighter film scheduled for release in October 2026, we believe there remains further potential for sales growth.”
Notably, Alex will be joining the Street Fighter 6 roster on March 17, 2026. After him, Ingrid is set to join in late spring to end Season 3.
Based on the schedules for Season 2 and Season 3, it’s suspected that Season 4 will be unveiled in the summer. This means that four new characters could be getting announced soon.
As such, it’s entirely possible that some of the characters for Season 4 could’ve been decided based on which fighters are present in the upcoming movie.
Characters thus far confirmed for the movie include Cammy, Juli, Joe, Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, Vega, Balrog, Blanka, Dhalsim, E. Honda, Akuma, M. Bison, Dan Hibiki and Don Sauvage.
As most of these characters are already playable in Street Fighter 6, this heavily points to Juli, Joe, Vega, Balrog, Dan and Don as potential candidates.
Based on M. Bison’s story in Street Fighter 6, there are already indicators that suggest that Vega and Balrog could be joining the fight in the future.
Of course, it’s entirely possible that a Street Fighter 6 and Street Fighter film crossover simply includes content in the form of new costumes, avatar parts or even a new stage.
