Background Supporting people with substance use disorder to work has become a key policy objective internationally. Meanwhile, interventions, such as Individual Placement and Support (IPS), have evolved to facilitate this. This article utilises the concept of emotional labour to explore the feelings and emotions experienced by people receiving treatment for alcohol and other drugs (AOD) who engaged with IPS and secured paid work. Five Jewish service members recently had their headstones altered, and they may be just the beginning. The American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) has partnered with the nonprofit Operation Benjamin to provide funding for the partnership to identify, research and correct burial mistakes for such service members. It comes on the heels of changes made at families’ requests to fix the headstones of five Jewish veterans after they were incorrectly buried at Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery in France under Latin crosses.
