The interdiction occurred “without incident in the INDOPACOM area of responsibility,” according to the post, which claimed the incident happened “overnight” though the accompanying one-minute video showed a daytime operation. “Suezmax tanker Aquila II departed from Venezuelan waters in early January…carrying about 700,000 barrels of Venezuelan heavy crude bound for China,” Reuters reports. U.S. forces “tracked and hunted this vessel from the Caribbean to the Indian Ocean,” the Defense Department said in a statement, and added, “By land, air, or sea, our Armed…

While indigenous civil society organisations (CSOs) are important actors in post-conflict peacebuilding, they have traditionally played a somewhat secondary role by carrying out unofficial Track II (T2) peacebuilding activities, such as peace education programs and problem-solving workshops. This does not mean indigenous organisations are ineffective, but that their peacebuilding influence has tended to be more focused on community relations than determining a conflict’s future. However, in recent times, indigenous CSOs have increasingly assumed a more central role in peacebuilding operations. As international…

In the age of zero trust, diverse IT environments and constancy of attacks, cybersecurity has become a matter of data analysis. Endpoints and networks produce continuous streams of data, and organizations can’t wait around to manually ferret out what the data tells them. “When you talk to IT leaders or security leaders, one of the things they will all frequently echo as a common struggle is the amount of time spent de-conflicting, deduplicating and consolidating data,” said Melissa Bischoping, the senior director of security and product design research at Tanium. “Is it really necessary to be looking at spreadsheets of…
