The Social Security Administration is appealing an arbitrator’s decision requiring the agency to restore telework for its employees. A third-party arbitrator ruled last month that SSA violated its collective bargaining agreement with the American Federation of Government Employees when it indefinitely suspended telework, and ordered the agency to restore workplace flexibilities that had been in place before mid-March 2025.
