The K13A1’s lineage can be traced back to the Special Operations Submachine Gun Type II initiative, initiated by the Defence Acquisition Programme Administration (DAPA). Initially developed as the STC-16, the predecessor model, the original K13, was officially integrated into service in 2023 after extensive evaluation. The K13A1, presented at ADEX 2025, incorporates user insights from the initial generation, refining functionality and enhancing material quality.
