Brawl Stars has finally dropped its October 2026 Brawl Talk, and it is shaping up to be one of the most content-packed updates of the year. Following the August Brawl Talk, which introduced the Duolingo collab and the Brawler Blast system, this update brings a major Ranked refresh, three new Brawlers, six new Buffies, traditional Brawlidays celebrations, new game modes, and more. So, let’s dive into the details!
Brawl Stars October 2026 Brawl Talk: Ranked Rework and New Brawlers
One of the biggest highlights of this update is the Ranked overhaul, with several changes to improve the competitive experience.
First, the Pick and Ban phase is getting a much-needed improvement. You’ll now see more Brawlers on the selection screen, plus filters and a search option to help you find your preferred picks quickly. Communication is also getting better with new quick chat options, allowing you to suggest bans, recommended brawler classes, and even swap turns during the selection phase.
The preparation screen is also getting a visual refresh, letting you see your equipped Skin, customize more aspects of your loadout, and use Pins before the match even begins. There are also changes to how you gain or lose Ranked points. Winning a match 2-0 with an Epic Win will now reward you with more points, while losing a close 2-1 match will result in fewer points being deducted.
More Ranked changes
Besides these major improvements, the update is bringing several smaller changes to make Ranked more competitive and rewarding.
- You can now use only Power Level 11 Brawlers in Ranked.
- Diamond rank and above will require more maxed-out Brawlers than before.
- The number of free maxed-out Brawlers has increased from three to six.
- Ranked will unlock later in the Trophy Road.
- You can now use the Play Again option in Ranked.
- Seasonal resets will remove fewer ranks than before.
- Teams will no longer be allowed in Masters rank and above.
- Matchmaking will become stricter from Mythic I onwards.
- Spectating will now cover the entire Best of Three series instead of just one match.
- The Battle Log will display post-match statistics and banned Brawlers.
Ranked is also getting new seasonal Battle Cards, featuring designs inspired by fierce animals such as wolves, tigers, dragons, and deer. These cards will be available for a limited time, with new designs planned every year. You can also get progressively cooler versions of the cards when you reach the same rank across different seasons.
New Brawlers in Brawl Stars
This update introduces three new Brawlers, starting with the unusual Thunder Frogs, followed by a couple whose abilities become even more interesting when they are together.
1. Thunder Frogs
First up are Thunder Frogs, the newest members of Ziggy’s trio. Now, don’t let it confuse you, as this is technically one Brawler, even though it consists of three different frogs named Zap, Zee, and Volt. Their main attack is quite different from what we’ve seen before, as you can control the three frogs and send them to different locations.
Depending on where they land, they create an electric link that damages enemies caught inside the triangular area. Enemies standing near the ends of this formation take even more damage. With their Super, the three frogs blend into one giant frog that can jump up to three times, dealing area damage whenever it lands.
The center of the landing area takes the most damage, while the third jump covers a greater distance. Their Hypercharge adds another layer to this ability, as the third jump creates an electric connection between all the landing spots, similar to their main attack. Thunder Frogs are the first Legendary Artillery Brawler and will arrive in November.
2. Rey
Next, we have Rey, the king of the Toyland area and one half of a rather unusual couple. His main attack revolves around marking opponents. He is madly in love with Ruby and constantly looks for opportunities to impress her. When you aim at an enemy, a mark gradually builds up as long as you keep them in your sight.
The longer you maintain your aim, the stronger the mark becomes, allowing Rey to deal more damage. His Super follows a similar mechanic, giving you time to aim at opponents before firing at the marked targets. He also receives a shield while using this ability, and you can activate the Super again to release the attack early.
His Hypercharge makes things even more interesting, as it allows him to reveal invisible enemies and those hiding in bushes while applying a stronger mark to them. Rey also has a special synergy ability with Ruby. When both are on the same team, his main attack can heal her, and he gains additional movement speed when moving towards her.
3. Ruby
And then we have Ruby, the queen of Toyland and the one who makes sure everyone follows the rules. She is also in love with Rey, although she seems to have a slightly different way of expressing it.
Her design revolves around playing cards and their suits. With her main attack, Ruby throws a club and a diamond towards enemies. If both projectiles hit the same target simultaneously, they deal more damage. Her Super creates an area that grounds enemies while summoning swirling projectiles that repeatedly deal damage to anyone caught inside.
Her Hypercharge increases the size of this area and spreads the swirling projectiles over a wider space. Just like Rey, Ruby also has a synergy ability that heals Rey with her main attack and increases her movement speed when moving towards him.
Brawl Stars October 2026 Brawl Talk: New Game Modes and Brawlidays Events
1. 20-Player Showdown
The update is introducing a larger version of Showdown that supports 20 players simultaneously. This mode comes with a bigger map, robots that you can take down, and even a minimap to help you keep track of the battlefield.
2. Counter Light
Next, we have Counter Light, a two-round game mode where both teams take turns completing objectives on the opposing side of the map. During the first round, one team must place blue lights on the red side of the map. The opposing team then gets its turn to place red lights on the other side. The team that manages to complete its objective faster wins the match.
3. Loaded Showdown
If you enjoy Showdown but want a little more chaos, Loaded Showdown is bringing plenty of additional items and power-ups. You can get improvements such as faster reload speed, lifesteal, increased attack range, and several other bonuses. There’s even a UFO that can fly over walls.
4. Super Hockey
The update also brings Super Hockey, a new take on the familiar hockey mode. The main twist is a rather unusual goalkeeper, making it a little more challenging to score goals. Besides these new additions, some older modes are also returning. Drum Roll is making a comeback, where your Brawler changes every time you eliminate an opponent.
Brawlidays events and Light Up the Tree
Brawlidays is also getting a festive advent calendar alongside the new seasonal skins and events.
The popular Topple the Tower event is returning with an improved version called Light Up the Tree. This time, you can play with a team option, while the Brawler selection will favor characters with whom you have the most trophies. And unlike the previous version, there won’t be any power-ups this time.
Brawl Stars October 2026 Brawl Talk: New Skins and Seasonal Content
As always, a new update means more cosmetics, and this time Brawl Stars is going all out with three major seasonal themes.
1. Brawl Vice Season skins
The first collection takes inspiration from the biggest game release in history, bringing a crime- and city-themed lineup. We have Brawl Vice Bull as one of the Brawl Pass skins, featuring two color variations, Brawl Vibes Bull and City Streets Bull. On the other side, we have Crime Pays Poco, who takes on the role of a crime boss, with Player Hating Poco and Game Hating Poco as his chroma variations.
Besides these, the season also brings Undercover Buzz and Undercover Pierce. We also have Black Market Barley. Plus, City Days Emz, along with her City Nights Emz variation, will arrive through a future event.
2. Brawlidays skins
For the final season of the year, Brawlidays is making its return with a festive collection of skins. First up is Santa Squeak, who is ready to deliver presents, bombs, and more. His two color variations are Frosty Squeak and Elf Squeak, which will be available through the Brawl Pass.
And who better to carry Santa’s sleigh than Nutcracker Draco? Along with him come Royal Nutcracker Draco and Candy Nutcracker Draco as his color variations. The other Brawlidays skins include Snowball Bolt, who likes both a snowball and a Christmas tree ornament, and Gingerbread Star Nova, bringing a rather tasty festive makeover.
We also have Brawlidays skins, including Snowball Bolt and Gingerbread Star Nova. Additionally, there will be Brawlidays Pam and Delivery Elf Jessie.
3. New Toon skins and other cosmetics
Moving away from the seasonal themes, Brawl Stars is also adding two new Toon-inspired skins. We have Toon Mortis, inspired by classic cartoon animations, and Steamboat Penny, which takes inspiration from even older animation styles. The community-designed World Finals Clancy skin by Sowdyze is also arriving with this update.
There are also new color variations for existing esports skins. Leon’s esports skin will receive an HMBLE-themed chroma, while Max gets a new variation featuring the Crazy Raccoon logo and colors. Lastly, the next Pro Skin is Starr Patrol Bibi, which comes with several upgrades that you can unlock by playing Ranked.
Brawl Stars October 2026 Brawl Talk: New Buffies and Hypercharges
New Buffies
Buffies are getting another round of additions, this time focusing on the Snowtel Gang and Candyland Trio. Six Brawlers are receiving new Buffies, bringing changes to their Gadgets, Star Powers, and Hypercharges, including Mr. P, Lou, Gale, Chester, Mandy, and Berry.
New Hypercharges
Besides the new Buffies, the update also brings Hypercharges for two recently introduced Brawlers.
- Cosmo’s Hypercharge: His Super becomes homing, allowing it to track its target and root enemies in place for a few seconds.
- Vince’s Hypercharge: His Super becomes homing, allowing it to track its target and root enemies in place for a few seconds.
Brawl Stars October 2026 Brawl Talk: Pin Improvements, Pro Pass, and Quality-of-Life Changes
Pin and Spray improvements
Another long-requested community feature is finally getting some attention. Brawl Stars is improving how you use Pins and Sprays. You can now create a general Pin selection or set up different selections for individual Brawlers. The inventory display is also getting an improvement, making it easier to browse all your available cosmetics.
But there’s one more interesting addition. You can now assign certain Pins to trigger automatically at specific moments, including when a match starts, when you win, or when you eliminate three Brawlers without getting taken down.
Pro Pass changes
The next Pro Pass will be slightly shorter than usual. However, the devs are compensating players with additional PPXP to make up for the reduced duration. The update also brings small improvements to team chat and other quality-of-life features.
Brawl Stars World Finals 2026
Lastly, Brawl Stars is preparing for its biggest World Finals yet, taking place in Japan from November 20 to November 22, 2026. You can earn several rewards for frre by watching and interacting with the tournament, inckuding a Buffie, the Esports Clancy skin, and plenty of other goodies.
