Supercell’s Clash Royale is heading beyond mobile screens with its first-ever board game, Clash Royale: The Grand Arena, developed in collaboration with Maestro Media. The tabletop strategy game is set to launch via Kickstarter on October 20, 2026.
Designed by David Gordon, Ryan Rodriguez, and TAM, The Grand Arena supports two to four players, who command their own forces across a series of battles. The objective remains familiar to Clash Royale players: deploy units, attack enemy Towers, counter opponents, and collect Crowns. The player with the most Crowns wins.
Clash Royale: The Grand Arena brings two-lane battles to the tabletop
The board game adapts several elements from the mobile experience itself; as you can see, the area is the Goblin Stadium, and there’s the bridge and towers there too. However, there’s some nice sprinkle of strategy on offer in the two-lane battle, but on a board.
Just as in the game, you will need to manage your Elixir carefully, choose the right moment to push an attack, and think about how to counter the moves your opponents make. Between battles, you can upgrade characters or add new ones to your deck, giving you room to adjust your approach as the game progresses.
You will also choose a Champion to build your eight-card deck around. The Evolution card stays with you throughout the game, giving your strategy a distinct foundation as you work towards victory. You can see what we’ll be getting on the board in the animated version of the gameplay in the trailer.
Also, it is important to note that this might be the first Clash Royale board game experience, but not Supercell’s. In fact, the Finnish developer received its first board game for another blockbuster strategy game, Clash of Clans, titled “The Epic Raid”, which was also in collaboration with Maestro Media, and is now available through retailers.
Clash Royale: The Grand Arena is expected to launch on Kickstarter on October 20, 2026. You can already visit the official Kickstarter campaign page and sign up to receive an alert when the campaign goes live.
