Bandai Namco Studios Singapore and Kakehashi Games have announced that a major update is on the way for their 3D platformer Hirogami.
On October 23 at 10 AM PT/ 1 PM ET, players can anticipate fixed camera angles, lowered enemy health, rebalanced combat, changed accessibility options, and much more. PS5 users will get this update at an unspecified later time due to certification timelines.
The patch notes are quoted below:
Adjusting fixed camera angles in various chapters.
Lowering crane requirements for unlocking late-game levels.
Reducing overall enemy HP for all chapters.
Rebalancing combat and reducing enemy count for all chapters.
Adjusting “No Damage” mission objectives to be easier in various chapters.
Making checkpoints more frequent in various chapters.
Shortening charge time for all fold form upgraded abilities.
Increasing the hitbox size for Hiro’s tornado wind attack.
Adding accessibility option to turn chromatic aberration on or off.
Adding accessibility option to reduce brightness of certain in-game transformations, such as building bridges or other structures.
Patching collision bugs that cause Hiro to get stuck in environmental geometry.
Increasing text size for Steam Deck gameplay.
The team also confirmed that the Japanese PlayStation 5 physical release will arrive on the same date, October 23, 2025.
About Hirogami
In Hirogami, players control Hiro, a paper warrior who aims to protect Shishiki Village from digital invaders as the Blight. To fight back, Hiro utilizes the art of folding, comprised of transforming into animal forms that grant unique movement abilities and combat options.
The gameplay centers around shape-shifting between origami creatures, like an Armadillo to roll through barricades and enemies, an Ape to navigate treetop terrain and deliver powerful strikes, or a Frog to leap to great heights and bypass vertical challenges. These transformations are the key to overcoming environmental puzzles.
