PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania. Boeing received an award for four MH-139A Grey Wolf helicopters under the first full-rate production order for the U.S. Air Force program, the company announced in a statement.
The award follows the Air Force’s declaration of initial operational capability for the MH-139A earlier this year and increases the total number of Grey Wolf helicopters under contract to 42. Boeing says it has delivered 27 aircraft to date.
The Grey Wolf is being fielded by the Air Force to support security operations around U.S. strategic missile fields. The transition to full-rate production moves the program beyond earlier production phases and enables Boeing to increase aircraft production as the service continues its fielding effort.
