UFC CEO Dana White has revealed when he will announce Alex Pereira’s next fight, with one specific condition.
Pereira moved up to heavyweight earlier this year after vacating his light heavyweight title. The two-division UFC champion made his 265-pound debut against Ciryl Gane at the White House on June 14 and lost in Round 2 by TKO.
Despite the setback, Pereira, who signed a new UFC 8 fight contract earlier this year, wants to keep competing at heavyweight until he decides to retire and still has his crosshairs on becoming the first UFC fighter to attain three-division glory.
Although fans expected a rematch between Pereira and new heavyweight champion Gane given how things played out on June 14, that won’t happen right now, as Gane will defend his title against Josh Hokit at UFC 334. Meanwhile, “Poatan” will likely face a top heavyweight contender again as he looks to earn his first win in the division.
Dana White has said that he will announce Alex Pereira’s next fight this Saturday on Nina-Marie Daniele’s KICK Stream only if her latest Instagram post gets 25k comments.

Alex Pereira is once more ready for a “Big Challenge”
Alex Pereira has not revealed who he will face next but told fans his next bout will be another “big challenge.” He recently said:
“It’s coming. Good news, that’s right, a big challenge. Like I told you, if I hadn’t taken risks in all my fights I wouldn’t be who I am today.”

A big win over any top-five heavyweight contender could be enough for Pereira to earn another title shot, given his star power and ‘Dana White privilege.’
During his heavyweight debut, “Poatan” seemed to put on more weight, which may have affected his speed and movement inside the octagon. However, this time, the 39-year-old also appears to be in much better shape.
