Renato Moicano put Brian Ortega on blast after the latter pulled out of their UFC 331 fight, citing an injury.
With not even a week left for the event, Ortega withdrew from the bout due to a nasty cut above his left eye – a freak headbutt accident during a jiu-jitsu session.
‘T-City’ drew criticism from most of the MMA community, and he hit back in a video posted on Instagram. He said:
For all of you who are saying that I pulled out because I’m scared, I’m ducking, whatever – you guys are stupid people among stupid people, straight up. I’m not even going to sugarcoat that sh*t; you guys are some dumba**es.
Moicano didn’t buy that either. During his appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, the Brazilian tore into Ortega for pulling out of the fight at the last minute, before going on to claim that the 35-year-old ‘is not in a good place mentally.’
Brian Ortega, he is not in a good place mentally.

He then went on to add why he felt so:
How the f*** you hurt yourself a week before the fight? Maybe he was trying to push too hard. This is just like somebody who didn’t study too much for the test and he wants to learn on the last day.
Renato Moicano Answers if Brian Ortega ‘Looked For A way out’ of the fight
Renato Moicano then clarified whether he felt Brian Ortega was looking for a way out of the fight. ‘Money’ added:
No, I’m not saying that. I’m not saying he was purposely looking for a way out, but if you went too hard in training or were sparring a week before, I don’t think that is a good idea.
Moicano then highlighted Ortega being in a ‘bad position’ right now:
He’s coming off four losses in his last five fights, two years without fighting, and fighting in his hometown against a guy that he beat once. I would not want to be walking in his shoes right now.
