- Hanwha Aerospace signed a contract with the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia to deliver 18 K239 Chunmoo multiple rocket launcher systems, associated rocket ammunition and support vehicles.

Hanwha Aerospace signed a contract with the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia for the Chunmoo Multiple Rocket Launcher System (MRLS), marking its first defence contract with Croatia and further expanding Chunmoo’s footprint across Europe.
The signing ceremony, held on September 10 at the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, was attended by senior government and industry representatives from both countries, including Andrej Plenković, Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia; Ivan Anušić, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the Republic of Croatia; Ahn Gyu-back, Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Korea; Lee Yong-cheol, Minister of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA); Lee Seung-bum, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Croatia; and Billy Boo-hwan Lee, Head of Business Operations at Hanwha Aerospace.

Under the contract valued at EUR 411.8 million, Hanwha Aerospace will supply 18 Chunmoo launchers, ammunition carriers, fire direction command vehicles and integrated logistics support. The contract also includes multiple types of precision-guided rockets for short-, medium- and long-range missions, as well as training and lifecycle support. Deliveries will continue through 2030.
The Croatian configuration will incorporate the TOPAZ battlefield management system developed by Poland’s WB Group, supporting interoperability across European Chunmoo users.
Andrej Plenković, Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, said:
“This is one of the largest investments in the equipment and modernization of the Croatian Armed Forces. With the Chunmoo system, the Croatian Armed Forces acquire a new strategic capability for fast and precise action, with high-value targets at distances from approximately 30 to 300 kilometers.”
The Croatia contract further expands Chunmoo’s user base in Europe, as Hanwha Aerospace continues to deepen defence partnerships through proven land systems, localized industrial cooperation and the manufacturing capacity to deliver advanced capabilities on schedule.
Reflecting Chunmoo’s expanding user base in Europe, Hanwha Aerospace announced that it will officially launch the Chunmoo User Club in 2027, following a Chunmoo User Workshop held in Estonia on September 3.
