Jiri Prochazka recently set the record straight on rumors surrounding his next fight. He also admitted that he is ‘sure of one thing.’
The former light heavyweight champion had a recent back-and-forth with Paulo Costa, and there was also speculation that the two would fight at UFC 332. Earlier this year, in April, Prochazka had even suggested that Costa and Magomed Ankalaev were the potential opponents he had in mind.
However, it looks like there is no fight set for the man from the Czech Republic, at least for now. Taking to Instagram, where he shared a boatload of photos and clips in a post (that also had sparring footage) – Prochazka captioned it:
Strong week, great rounds and teamwork. Family and friend bachelors party for relax on weekend. Let’s start a 3rd week. Just don’t believe to every bullsh*t on internet. Fight is not confirmed yet, still working on that. One thing is sure. I want my preparation to be truly thorough—to break everything down—and to start from the roots that have long been a part of me.

Jiri Prochazka’s last fight ended in Disaster
Jiri Prochazka’s last fight, against Carlos Ulberg, which was also for the vacant UFC Light Heavyweight Championship, ended in disaster for the 33-year-old.
After a rather even start, Prochazka gained the upper hand when Ulberg appeared to have suffered a knee injury in the first round. However, he failed to capitalize on it and even looked like he was showing mercy to the New Zealander.
Ulberg used this to his advantage and caught Prochazka with a clean check left hook, eventually dropping the Czech Republican. A flurry of punches then from Ulberg knocked Prochazka out, in what turned out to be a nightmarish outing for the latter.
