France does not like “The Hangman.”
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight contender Dan Hooker returns to action in the main event of UFC Paris on Sat., Sept. 5, 2026, inside Accor Arena in Paris, France.
And he is not getting a warm welcome.
According to Hooker, the death threats have been nonstop.
“I feel like I’m pissing off this kid,” Hooker told Submission Radio. “You’re ruining his plans. You’re ruining these boys in France, you know, because it’s a main event. From memory, I can’t even say I watched any of the French events, but f—k, from what I’m getting, the death threats have been outrageous.
“I didn’t get it when I fought BSD,” Hooker continued. “Like just the f—king French people and speaking French telling me I’m going to die and telling me they’re going to kill me and s—t. The death threats have been outrageous.”
Apparently, Parnasse’s fans are on another level.
“I think maybe because BSD, he’s obviously French as well, my last opponent, I feel like because he’s just such a respectful guy,” Hooker said. “The people that follow him or support him aren’t complete f—king c—ts. But whoever this c—t’s fans are, they are outrageous.”
Despite the ugly messages, Hooker does not sound intimidated. In fact, the whole thing seems to have made him even more motivated to spoil Parnasse’s UFC debut in front of his home crowd.
“It’s going to feel pretty sweet shutting this kid’s lights out,” Hooker said. “Making these guys eat their words. I don’t feel like the UFC has it out for me. I just feel like they think I’m the only one dumb enough to fight a kid that is unranked.”
“I’m here to ruin hopes and dreams,” Hooker continued. “This kid wants to come in, make a name for himself, crack the top 10. He wants to be a superstar, but I’m going to fly to France, and I’m going to f—k everyone’s night up. That’s my plan.”
So, yeah, Hooker is leaning into the villain role.
Parnasse gets his UFC debut. France gets its new hopeful. And Hooker gets a hostile main event in enemy territory.
“The Hangman” seems just fine with that, and he might even enjoy it.
