What’s inside Tank Encyclopedia Magazine Issue #12?
1️⃣ The history of the Vickers-Carden-Loyd Light Tank Mark IIIB “Dutchman”, written by our very own Leander Jobse. This comprehensive article guides readers through the vehicle’s history, its development, export successes, and the rarely told story of its combat service in Southeast Asia.
2️⃣ The history of U.S. artillery from the end of the First World War through the 1950s, written by Joshua Allen, and how this evolved into self-propelled guns and weapons. In Issue #12, we publish the first part of this extensive study, with the story continuing in the next issue of the magazine, so keep an eye out for that.
3️⃣ The third article tells the story of an extremely rare Cold War-era experimental vehicle—the Spanish BMU-2. The history of this armored multipurpose vehicle has been covered extensively for the first time in the English-language by Javier Sánchez and is accompanied by beautiful photographs taken by Gareth Lynn Montes.
4️⃣ Finally, we investigate the brand-new Russian BREM-80 armored recovery vehicle. The BREM-80 is an evolution of the T-80-based ARV developed in the 1990s, which achieved only limited commercial success and was slated for retirement alongside the entire T-80 family. However, it made an unexpected comeback in the 2020s.
Enjoy Issue #12, lovingly prepared by our dedicated team!
