Conor McGregor’s return to the octagon did not turn out how everyone had expected. After five years away from the sport, “The Notorious” wanted to return with a bang, but another leg injury has ruined his plans.
As the UFC 329 main event commenced, McGregor injured himself with the first strike that he threw. “The Notorious” came out aggressively, throwing a flying kick just seconds into the fight. However, he landed awkwardly and suffered a knee injury that could have also torn his ACL.
Once the ref saw the Irishman was struggling to remain standing, he decided to stop the contest right away.
Official decision: Max Holloway defeats Conor McGregor via TKO at 1:09 of Round 1 at UFC 329.
While “Blessed” wants to run it back with “The Notorious” a third time, it is too early to judge whether the former UFC double champ will ever return to the octagon again, especially after how his return after half a decade turned into a nightmare.
