The Steam Summer Sale of 2026 might be in the rearview mirror, but the sales on strategy games sure keep on coming. Right as the sale came to an end, Hooded Horse and Firesquid announced the start of Tacticon, their annual celebration of everything that’s strategy-gaming related. Tacticon lasts until the 13th, so we’d best hurry up and have a look at the games I think are the best deals available!
Vultures – Scavengers of Death
Do not be put off by the looks of Vultures – Scavengers of Death. This is one of the best strategy games I have played in 2026, and to be completely honest, I wasn’t even expecting to like it. For $12.11, you can pick up this turn-based survival horror inspired by 90s classics like Resident Evil and Alone in the Dark. You’ll be leading a team of two Vulture operatives trying to uncover the information that might lead to the cure of the infection, turning people into zombies. Levels are massive, you can play by being stealthy or going in guns blazing, and the narrative is surprisingly well put together.
Tempest Rising
RTS games seem to be making a return to their single-player roots, by focusing on campaigns and story, instead of twitchy multiplayer-oriented titles, with games like ZeroSpace and Dawn of War IV leading the charge in 2026. Leading the way before them was Tempest Rising, by Slipgate Ironworks, a game that’s clearly inspired by Command & Conquer, which tried to revive (and managed to) the classic RTS base building with fast-paced combat. The meat of the game is its 2 epic single-player campaigns, which instantly brought me back to my childhood, the late 90s and early 2000s, playing C&C, Empire Earth, and Age of Empires, and for $27.99 (30% off), this is quite a decent deal.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns

Well, by this time, if you’ve been a regular visitor here, you already know that Marvel’s Midnight Suns is one of my favorite strategy games ever made, and you can read my glowing review of it, but since the game is currently sitting at an 85% discounting, making it the cheapest it has ever been, costing just $8.99, this is an S-tier recommendation!
