Freebird’s emotional series is heading toward its final chapter, with a demo planned for Steam Next Fest this October.
Serenity Forge and Freebird Games have revealed a new trailer for The Last Hour of an Epic TO THE MOON RPG, the closing chapter of the long-running To the Moon series.
The game is currently planned for Summer 2027, while players will be able to get an early look through a demo scheduled for Steam Next Fest in October 2026.
After more than a decade of stories built around memory, regret, love, and the strange ways people try to make peace with the past, The Last Hour of an Epic TO THE MOON RPG aims to bring Freebird’s saga to its conclusion.
The new trailer presents the game as both a farewell and a playful twist on the series’ familiar formula, leaning into RPG imagery while still keeping the emotional core that made To the Moon, Finding Paradise, and Impostor Factory resonate with so many players.

The game brings back major characters from across the series, including Neil, Eva, Roxie, and Rob, and frames the story around a final “Lighthouse-shaped Dungeon” and a maxed-out party entering what looks like the last stretch of an exaggerated thousand-hour RPG adventure.
Turn-based combat, classic RPG-style boss encounters, and the return of characters from To the Moon, Finding Paradise, and Impostor Factory.
Despite the intentionally over-the-top title and RPG parody setup, the premise still appears rooted in Freebird’s usual territory: characters facing the weight of everything that came before. The series began with a story-driven adventure about two doctors entering the memories of a dying man to fulfill his final wish, and over time it expanded into a wider, deeply personal universe of connected stories.

The Last Hour of an Epic TO THE MOON RPG now looks set to gather those threads for one last emotional sendoff.
Before the full launch in 2027, players will have a chance to try the game during Steam Next Fest: October 2026 Edition, which is officially scheduled to run from October 19 to October 26, 2026.
The Last Hour of an Epic TO THE MOON RPG is planned to release in Summer 2027 PC via Steam. The demo is expected to arrive during Steam Next Fest in October 2026.
