Merab Dvalishvili has given his two cents on the upcoming Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway 2 welterweight bout.
The UFC’s biggest draw, McGregor, is returning to the octagon after five years and will run it back with Holloway in the main event of UFC 329 on July 11.
In recent interviews, McGregor has expressed confidence, stating that staying away from the game for half a decade has helped him recover from the catastrophic leg injury he suffered in 2021, and next month, he will knock out Holloway in “spectacular” fashion to prove that the former was and will be on his level. The Dubliner says he is just entering his prime.
Conor McGregor is eating, sleeping, training, and living in the gym. Meanwhile, the Hawaiian for his welterweight debut has invited former champion Jack Della Maddalena to his camp to help him solve “The Notorious” puzzle.
Merab Dvalishvili on why he wants Conor McGregor to win UFC 329
During a recent sitdown with N3on, former UFC bantamweight kingpin Merab Dvalishvili, while speaking about Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway 2, said that he is rooting for the Dubliner to win. But given how much time McGregor spent away from the octagon, it’ll be difficult for him to come back and beat “Blessed” unless the 37-year-old former UFC double champ is hungry to prove to the world that he still has plenty left in the tank. Dvalishvili said:
“I know Conor McGregor won the first time [he fought Holloway]. But now, he’s been out of this game for a long time. Meanwhile, Max Holloway was training. He’s always been in shape, and he will have the benefit [at UFC 329]. But also Conor McGregor. He’s bigger now… Maybe he’s hungry now. For the sport, it will be good if Conor McGregor comes and shows a good fight. If he wins, that would be huge, but I think Max Holloway has a better chance. But I kind of want McGregor to win because it’s going to be huge and big [if he does win].”

Merab Dvalishvili says Ilia Topuria will get an immediate title rematch
During the same sitdown when N3on asked Merab Dvalishvili to reveal who top UFC lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan is fighting next, “The Machine” refused to name the opponent.
“I am not gonna say [who Arman Tsarukyan is fighting next]. I am a UFC employee. I can’t tell.”
However, when the American streamer added that Tsarukyan will fight lightweight champion Justin Gaethje next, “The Machine” smiled and added:
Ilia is fighting Gaethje [next]. Ilia was a great champion. He is fine.”
