PFL San Diego goes down tonight, and there is a stacked offering from top to bottom for enthusiasts of the Professional Fighters League. The action emanates from Pechanga Arena as the Smart Cage encroaches into California to kick off the PFL Summer Series.
The headlining bout will see AJ “The Mercenary” McKee take on an unbeaten phenom in Salamat Isbulaev. The latter burst onto the PFL scene in a big way by finishing former PFL featherweight champion Jesus Pinedo in the first frame of the fight. Now Isbulaev takes on another massive test in his sophomore effort in the Smart Cage as he looks to dispatch former Bellator MMA champion AJ McKee, who is looking to vault himself toward a PFL 145-pound title fight in his own right.
In the penultimate fight of the night, former Bellator MMA champion and multi-division UFC title challenger Liz Carmouche returns to her home state in a high-stakes bout. This fight could vault her toward a title shot in the PFL, but Carmouche must get through a stuff challenge in Viviane Araujo to do so.
ESPN Unlimited will be broadcasting the full card with preliminary action followed by the main card set to broadcast on ESPN+ and ESPN 2, respectively. The preliminary portion kicks off at 5 PM PT with the main card beginning at 7 PM PT for the locals in the area.
