I’ve got a whole backlog of new indie titles to show you, buried in my inbox. Whenever I can find the time, I do my best to bring them all to these pages.
This morning, I’m talking about Electronic Games Studio, which is preparing Dungebra, a dark fantasy roguelike deckbuilder currently listed as coming soon on Steam. The game focuses on short, replayable dungeon runs built around card choices, hero preparation, artifacts, and turn-based combat.
Rather than starting each attempt with a fully defined deck, Dungebra asks players to shape their build as the run unfolds.

Before entering the dungeon, players choose a hero, prepare their starting approach, and equip artifacts that can influence the direction of the run.
From there, rewards and card selections gradually push the deck toward different strategies, including direct damage, resource management, effect buildup, or more elaborate combo setups.
One of the main ideas behind the game is synergy. Cards, items, artifacts, and hero abilities are designed to interact with one another, encouraging players to build engines rather than rely on isolated, powerful cards. The Steam description also highlights systems such as Combo, Overload, and Sequence, suggesting that the order and timing of actions will play a central role during battles.

Each hero is expected to offer a different starting point, changing the priorities and risks of a run.
Artifacts can support more aggressive tactics, defensive planning, long-term scaling, or specific card interactions, while progression unlocks additional preparation options and new ways to approach future attempts.
With its dark fantasy setting and lovely pixel art, Dungebra looks aimed at players who enjoy compact roguelike runs. The game is in development for PC via Steam, with its release date still to be announced, but there’s a demo available.
