Just two weeks after UFC BJJ 8, the promotion goes for a quick turnaround to host more Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) stars along with a light heavyweight title bout. UFC BJJ 9 happens on THURSDAY (June 4, 2026) inside the UFC’s Meta Apex venue in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The event will be headlined by Mason Fowler looking to defend his light heavyweight crown against former IBJJF no gi world champ Devhonte Johnson. In the co-main event, longtime UFC star Gilbert Burns will go back to his grappling roots after retiring from MMA, and will make his UFC BJJ debut against Horlando Monteiro. Burns previously won three IBJJF world titles in both gi and no gi from 2010 to 2013, and he was actually the one who promoted current UFC BJJ superstar Mikey Musumeci to black belt.
Outside of the main and co-main events, there will be quite a few big name BJJ stars on the card such as CJI champ Nick Rodriguez, ADCC champ Ffion Davies, along with second generation grapplers Achilles Rocha and Bella Mir.
