- CWL gets new league tiers, with temporary medal adjustments and a bonus league planned.
- Some events are now targeted, giving you boosts if your village progress has slowed.
Supercell has shared its plans for May 2026 in Clash of Clans, and this time, it is for a section that has needed some attention for a long while. After the multiple Ranked tweaks earlier this year, the focus now moves toward Clan War Leagues, while progression and how events are being handled are also going to see some changes.
Clash of Clans May 2026 plans and updates explained
New tiers for the CWL
So CWL is getting some attention, following the 5v5 update and expansion that we received in March. Starting with the May CWL (already live in-game), the league structure is getting new tiers. If you are a leader or a co-leader of the clan, I’m sure you have seen the Titan and Legend league addition in the Clan Wars League.
The goal here is to make matchmaking and competition feel more balanced, especially if you’re playing at higher levels.

There is one thing you might notice, though. If you’re near the top, your medal count could feel slightly lower at first, as they confirm that it isn’t them cutting rewards. To balance that out, a bonus CWL is already planned, so you’ll be able to recover what you might miss early on.
The change in events
This is where things get a bit different. Not every player is going to see the same events starting from May. If your village has slowed down, maybe your Builders are idle, or upgrades are dragging, you might start getting extra events.
These include a login calendar, Treasure Hunt, and boosts like faster resource collection or cheaper upgrades. This is a pretty interesting way to help the players lag a little. It is interesting how they will approach it.
The same is with the Clan Events. You might notice that your clanmate has a slightly different version of an event, or maybe an extra one that you don’t see. They’re testing different versions of events, rewards, and formats to see what actually works better.

Treasure Hunt and Dragon Duke event updates
As part of the May 2026 events calendar, we have a few updates as well. Treasure Hunt is coming back near the end of the month, but it’s limited to Town Hall 3 to Town Hall 16. So if you’re already maxed out or a TH below, you won’t see this one.
Another change is with the Dragon Duke event. During this time, you can use him at full strength even if he’s upgrading. So you don’t have to pause upgrades just to use him in attacks. You get the full Hero, so it can be said this is one of the more fun changes this month.
