UFC heavyweight contender Curtis Blaydes issued his first remarks after a brutal three-round war against Josh Hokit at UFC 327.
At a time in which the UFC’s heavyweight division desperately needed excitement and juice, Curtis Blaydes and Josh Hokit delivered with an instant classic at UFC 327.
Blaydes, a Top 10 mainstay in the UFC’s heavyweight division, lost to the unranked Josh Hokit at UFC 327 last Saturday in Miami. It was a captivating three-round war between Blaydes and Hokit, as fans were treated to quite the show inside the cage as they were in the lead-up outside of it.
Hokit proved he’s more than a controversial character inside the cage as he outpointed Blaydes to earn a likely Top 5 spot in the heavyweight division. As for Blaydes, it was another setback in his pursuit of a potential heavyweight title shot.
Despite the stunning loss to Hokit, Blaydes is in good spirits after UFC 327, as he made his first social media remarks following the thrilling fight.

In a recent Instagram post, Blaydes made his first public remarks since his devastating defeat.
“Emptied the clip, threw the gun. That SoB is tougher to kill than he looks,” Blaydes posted.
“Did we save heavyweight chat?”
As you’d expect, many UFC fans responded to Blaydes with a resounding ‘Yes’ to his question.
Blaydes entered UFC 327 riding high after a split decision win over Rizvan Kuniev at UFC Baku last June. The elite wrestler has earned wins over the likes of Jailton Almeida, Chris Daukaus, and Tom Aspinall in recent years.
Blaydes vs. Hokit took home ‘Fight of the Night’ honors at UFC 327, and Blaydes went home with a lucrative post-fight bonus payout. In the meantime, Blaydes will look to work his way back to the Octagon and to potentially get back into the title mix.
