Joselyne Edwards earned a brutal submission victory over Nora Cornolle at UFC Houston.
While Edwards had her moments in the first round, it was Cornolle who landed the more impactful strikes, including some nasty knees against the fence as the final seconds of the stanza ticked off the clock.
But as good as Cornolle looked in the first, Edwards was even better in the second.
Two minutes into the second round, Edwards lifted Cornolle off the mat and set her crashing back to the canvas. The takedown appeared to injure Cornolle’s shoulder, preventing her from defending herself. Despite that, the referee allowed the fight to continue as Edwards unleashed a flurry of hammer fists.
Cornolle attempted to fight back, but ultimately gave up her back, allowing Edwards to jump on and secure a rear-naked choke.

Official Result: Joselyne Edwards def. Nora Cornolle via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:44 of Round 2.
