Sean Strickland was the first to use his platform to speak out against Tiki Ghosn after the former UFC fighter landed a crushing elbow on popular streamer Nurideen Shabazz, better known by his online alias ‘Deen The Great’.
Since the incident, Shabazz has come under fire for his obnoxious behavior, with many believing he deserved what he got. The vast majority of people sided with Ghosn for not playing into the streamer’s game, but one of the very few who stood beside Shabazz was UFC ace Strickland.
Strickland is no stranger to beating up influencers, but flamed Tiki Ghosn for landing a sucker punch on a much less experienced fighter.
“There’s that viral clip where like Tiki goes and he knocks out the streamer,” Strickland said during the UFC Houston media day. “Which was a sucker punch by the way. Everyone is like, ‘It’s dope that you did that.’ Was it dope? You had a cup and you sucker punched a guy in the face.”
“What would be dope is to say, ‘Alright, man, you want to f***ing fight? Make the circle.’ That’s what a f***ing man does, dude.”
Strickland considers Ghosn’s elbow a cheap shot and expects real men to welcome a fair fight, opposed to hitting another man whilst he isn’t ready.
“He just looks away like, ‘You serious?’ and boom, sucker punch,” Strickland continued. “What? That’s kind of being a little b***h to me. If you are going to f***ing fight a man, you give him the option.”
Strickland’s support for Deen The Great came as a surprise to many. The UFC star often takes any opportunity he gets to attack and belittle streamers, but had a change of heart when watching the scenes earlier this week.
After seeing the comments, Deen The Great shared his response.
“W Sean.”
